HOMEMADE “BISQUICK” FOR BISCUITS AND
PANCAKES

8 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 c. Crisco
Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Store sealed in pantry or refrigerator.

Updated to add:
Not knowing I already posted a recipe, I looked one up today and found this:
9c flour
1/4c bp
1 1/2T salt
2c crisco

And this:
1c flour
1 1/2t bp
1/4t salt
1T Crisco

So there you have it – the official recipe of Bisquick. If anyone would like to make some samples and decide which works best, please add your comments.
