The magic of a smile

This evening Warrior and I visited a couple assisted living facilities.  His sister watched a napping Pretty Girl and rambunctious twins so we only had Little Man with us.

Have you ever walked into a crowd of elderly women with a smiling 3 month old in your arms?

What is the secret of a baby?  Do they remind us of heaven since they were so recently there?

Do we just appreciate their unadulterated love?  I read a quote today by someone famous (sorry, I forgot whom) that we can only have a relationship with someone we trust.  If there is no trust, there is no love – only a strategy.  Babies have no strategy.  They do not judge or doubt or dislike; they trust and love implicitly.

Christ told us to be as little children (Matt. 18:3).  In the case of Little Man, this means flash a HUGE gorgeous smile  to everyone you meet.  Especially when they tell you how cute you are.  Oh, and burrow down when you mom holds you so she feels really snuggled and loved.
